We get it—even though summer promises freedom to do whatever you want under the sun, sometimes it’s just plain hard to think of anything to do, or worse, you might start getting cabin fever after just a few weeks of laying around at home. Why not check out these fun places when looking for Atlanta summer activities? Whether you’re looking for all-day everyday fun or special events, they’ll have something for everyone.

The area is offering two circus acts this year from the UniverSoul Circus and the famed Cirque du Soleil. This summer, Cirque du Soleil will be bringing their KURIOS show to the astonishment of audiences everywhere, depicting the aesthetic of a Victorian-era inventor and his ability to alter reality at will. The UniverSoul Circus provides a more traditional circus-going experience, with balancing acts, limbo dancers, and even dirt bike performers.

If circuses aren’t really your style, how about the zoo or aquarium? Zoo Atlanta offers a wide variety of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians for your viewing pleasure, as well as a glimpse into plant life and horticulture, including the Carnivorous Plant Bog, home to plants such as the Venus flytrap or Pitcher plant. Zoo Atlanta is sure to be a fun, educational experience for the whole family, and the Georgia Aquarium is the same way. Get an up-close look at sea life and participate in one of the aquarium’s many special events.

There are plenty of Atlanta summer activities to do, but interacting with animals and watching talented performers put on a show are two of the best choices this summer. Don’t miss out on any of these great events that are sure to be fun for the whole family.
