The summer heat can do a number to your car, especially if you’re parking outside without any shade during the workday. The sun can harm more than just your paint, though. The interior can fade over time, not to mention grow very hot during the working hours. We here at Carriage Nissan are here to help you beat the heat and teach you how to keep your car cool!

A hot car isn’t any fun to clamber into after a long day at work. In a perfect world, every business would have shaded parking. This isn’t a perfect world, though, and if you have shaded parking available at work, you’re in luck.

If you don’t, consider purchasing a sunshade to cover the windshield. A sunshade will do more than just keep your car cool—it will also protect your interior from harmful UV rays, leaving your interior looking new for as long as possible.

When the car is hot, don’t immediately turn on the top vents. Instead, roll down your windows and switch to the bottom vents. Odds are its cooler outside than it is inside the car anyway.

Hot air rises, so turning cooler air on at the bottom will push the hot air up and out of the car. Switch to the top vents and switch the setting to ‘recirculation’ for a relaxing ride home!
